\”He Loves Me\” a worship song that i first heard in our college chapel but didnt think much about the song or the words for that matter. I then bought the new Anthony Evans cd and the song was on there. I was laying in bed about to fall asleep when the song came on. Still didnt think much of it until the next morning I woke up with the words \”he is jealous for me\”. Now to show how thick headed that i am i still didnt pay attention. It wasnt till the song got to the point of annoyance because i couldnt figure out why at every concious moment my mind was repeating \”he is jealous for me\”. What the heck. Seriously? Jealous for ME? No way!!!??
Now i am getting a little obsessive with wikipedia but I think that it proves what God has been teaching the last few weeks. Jealousy – \”a secondary emotion and typically refers to the negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of something that the person values, particularly in reference to a human connection\”
That is frickin sweet!!! I know that this isnt a Bible verse to go off of but it shows the magnitude of how God feels about his children. He is so boss and he is jealous for me. Not just me but he is jealous for what belongs to him.
Zephaniah 3:8 (NIV)Therefore wait for me,\” declares the Lord, \”for the day I will stand up to testify. I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them—all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger.
This reminds me of the show \”Monster in Law\”. This show i have only seen once but the time that i saw it was amazing. They basically tape in-laws that are just ridiculously jealous or defy all the parents authority. This one episode was with this couple and the sister of the husband was just pyscho. She was so ridiculously jealous it was unreal. Everything that happen between this guys wife and the sister was recorded in a notebook by the crazy sister. She would get so upset about ever little thing that didnt go her way. Now i am not trying to say that God is like this crazy sister. What makes the comparison is the amount of care and jealous that there is. The difference is that God\’s jealousy is justified. Most of the time the monster in law is not right for what they are doing.
This verse is like how i feel now with one of my basketball players. Some of them are so f-ing stupid! Just like the way that i am acting towards God in mmy rebelllious moments. So f-ing stupid. God has every right to get jealous. I love how God just comes to the point where hhe is fed up. He has exhausted his patience and he says, \” i have decided to assemble the nations…to pour out my wrath.\” \”all my fierce anger\”. It scares thhe crap out of me because God\’s anger is so much more fierce than the worlds worst in-law.
The better reality tho is that he cares that much. He cares for me so much that just like a young boy is jealous of his friends toy or like a grown man looking at pictures of monster bucks wishing thhat could be them. He wants me that much time infinity. He wants me to want him. Like a pycho chick stalker. I cant really imagine this jealous but i know its emence.
God thank you for showing your love through a unique way. Thanks for letting mme realize that I am worth so much to you and i pray that you will help me to remember that!
