Knowledge is a real dangerous because there are two paths one can take when their knowledge base increases. One is a dangerous path and the other is a scary path.
I perceive the dangerous path to be more common and easier place to end up, especially those that are not self aware. Me. One falls into the trap of thinking that they know and are aware of more than everyone else so they tend to reject new things. This process happens quickly or over a lifetime. If we are not careful this can become the default setting for all of us and even more those that believe in something wholeheartedly. Religion, country or ideology. The deeper our Knowledge about something, like a scale, the less open minded we are about new information. This especially gets tricky within relationships. The more we think we know about a person, the more apt we think our ability are guessing their motives. This is simple untrue. I believe that the more we understand about a single topic or in general the easier it is to over-took truth.
The second path is definitely the scariest option. When the more knowledge you gain creates humility. It leads you to a place of small insignificance. Some of the wises men I have read say. The more you know, the more you learn that you don’t know. Thomas Sowell, “it takes an incredible amount of knowledge to understand your ignorance.” This path often seems scarier but it is much more solid than the first path. We always want to speak from a position of authority. The later attitude is much more powerful than we think it is.
